BEACH

Happy Days has its own Cabana on the Sandy Lane Property Owners Association Facility, which is situated on Sandy Lane beach adjacent to the hotel.

Guests have access to this facility and are issued with temporary passes, which must be shown at the entrance to Sandy Lane Hotel. On passing through the entrance gates of the Hotel, turn first left and go down the slope to the car park barrier. Swipe the car park barrier card to lift the barrier and park your car in the private car park. Walk through the facility and on to Sandy Lane beach. Speak to one of the attendants and they will bring the sun loungers from the cabana for you and place them on the beach. They will also put them back for you when you leave. A small tip for this service is customary.

The cabana is equipped with a fridge so feel free to take cold drinks with you. Sandy Lane beach (web link)

SAILING
Various sailing vessels are available for hire along the West Coast of Barbados. For those who enjoy being on the water, we would highly recommend a catamaran cruise. These are normally 4- 6 hours in duration. Tickets can be purchased for day trips that leave from Bridgetown and collection and drop off from Happy Days can also be arranged.

For those with something special to celebrate or simply requiring more privacy, the catamaran can be chartered for your exclusive use. We have regularly used “Cool Runnings ” and have been delighted each time we have gone. Check out the links below for further info.

GOLF

Sandy Lane Old Nine

Barbados has several golf courses, all within easy reach of Happy Days. The Sandy Lane Old Nine course is central to the Sandy Lane Estate and is a delight to play. Clubs and buggies are available for hire at all courses.

Sandy Lane Country Club

For those seeking something more taxing and one of life ’s experiences, we would recommend the Sandy Lane Country Club. This is situated approximately two minutes drive from Happy Days and is a truly outstanding 18 hole course. Tee off early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat of the day and let your caddy give you the benefit of his experience of the course. Enjoy superb food and drink in the club house after your game and maybe watch some sport on the big screen in the Club House bar. Sandy Lane Country Club (web link)

Royal Westmoreland

Another outstanding course available to non residents and guests at most times of the year. Located ten minutes drive from Happy Days, The Royal-Westmoreland and has a worthy reputation for being a challenging and rewarding course.

Barbados Golf Club

Located in Durants, near to the Grantley Adams Airport, the Barbados Golf Club is open to the public and is quite challenging. Not to the standard of Sandy Lane or Royal Westmoreland, but enjoyable nonetheless.

DEEP SEA FISHING

Fishing boats can be chartered and leave from Bridgetown. Most companies offer a collection and drop off service direct from Happy Days. Fish you might catch include Dolphin ( Mahi Mahi), Kingfish, Tuna, Barracuda and Marlin. Bring your catch back to Happy Days and Francis the gardener will gladly gut and fillet it and June the Cook will serve it up for Lunch or Dinner!
We have used the company Fishing Charters Barbados Inc and have had success on every trip so far. Happy fishing!
